Q: Why do we need a hospice when we are getting a new hospital?
A: Cowichan Hospice House is a companion project to the new hospital. It will immediately provide a more appropriate and cost effective option for those who cannot be cared for at home at the end of their lives, but who don’t need acute care in the hospital.
Q: Are there residential hospice facilities in other communities on the Island?
A: The Cowichan Region is the only community of our size on the Island without a residential hospice program.
Every Wednesday we will be posting a new Q&A regarding the Cowichan Hospice House and we want to hear from you! Please submit your questions to zoe.cvhs@shaw.ca or comment on these posts. We will do our best to answer all questions and engage in dialogue about this very important project. Like us on Facebook for more updates.
